Conference on Textile : Business and Environment Sustainability – Challenges for the Colorants Industry
A two days conference on Textiles : Business and Environment Sustainability – Challenges for the Colorants Industry organized by DMAI and supported by the Dept. of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India was held in Coimbatore on 29-30 November 2013. Dr. Adithela Jai Vara Prasad, Jt.Secretary, Dept. of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India was the Chief Guest and Mr.A.V. Venkatachalam, IFS, Member Secretary, Tamilnadu Pollution Control Board the Guest of Honour. The Conference received excellent response with more than 150 delegates attending the Conference.
On the first day, the Business Sessions were conducted after Inaugural Session with the traditional lighting of lamp by the dignitaries. Mr. Janak Mehta, Chairman, Organising Committee and President, DMAI made his welcome address. The Guest of Honour and Chief Guest thereafter addressed the gathering. Since the Conference was held in Coimbatore, which has in its close proximity the hub of Textile and Processing units, the delegates would be very much benefited from the presentations from both the colorant and user industries, Dr.Prasad averred.
An attractive and illustrative Souvenir on the Conference was thereafter released by the dignitaries. The Business Sessions were also held on the 2nd day in the afternoon. The topics covered in the Sessions and presentations were appreciated as relevant and informative. All the presentations were well received by the knowledgeable audience.
Mr.Virendra Widge, Convener, Publicity & Publication Committee, Organising Committee members proposed a vote of thanks in the Concluding Session.
