Chinese Delegation visits DMAI

An Interactive Meeting of the visiting Chinese Delegation with our Managing Committee members was held at DMAI Conference room on 25th June 2014 at the instance of Ms. Garima Arora, Senior Associate of India China Economic and Cultural Council, New Delhi.  15 members from DMAI participated.  The following 5 delegates from China were present.

1)          Mr.Zhang Quing, Vice President, Shanghai Textile Science Research Institute, China

2)          Dr. Zheng Guang Hong, Professor, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

3)          Mr.Qu Zhuo Yuan, General Manager, Huanian Dye & Chemical Co.Ltd

4)          Mr.Bao Enze, Changshu Sun Kam Kwong Printing & Dyeing Co.Ltd. Hong Kong

5)          Mr.Li Guoquing, Chairman, Changshu xin Jinjiang Printing and Dyeing Co.Ltd.

President Shri Janak Mehta chaired the meeting.  Ms.Garima acted as the interpreter.

At the outset, Shri Janak Mehta welcomed our distinguished guests from across the border.  Shri Mehta briefly gave some salient features of the Indian Colorant Industry and made a power point presentation thereon.   He summarized the highlights like Colorant Industry in India, India’s share of colorants in the global market and its size of volume both in domestic and international market, its application in various segments, export performance, future trends etc

In response, the Chinese delegates informed us that of late, there has been some stringent measures contemplated by the Chinese Govt. on pollution control and SHE concept.  This has created a lot of problems for the Colorant manufacturers in China as well.  Cost of Intermediates has also gone up substantially like in our own country.  It is very difficult to predict as on now as to when the present situation will change for the better.

In the Interactive session which followed, both the parties on either side exchanged information on the colorant industry, which was quite informative and useful.

The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by the Chair.
